Atlantic Watch: Devils top the East, Rangers on winning streak, Islanders on losing streak

The Philadelphia Flyers were able to extend their point streak to four games this week, as they earned a shootout loss to the Florida Panthers and an overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Although they were dominated in Toronto, the Orange and Black did a good job of rebounding to earn their second road win of the year last night in Winnipeg. The Flyers continue their road trip with three of their six games away from the Wells Fargo Center coming in the next seven days. After a four game home stand which saw them earn seven of a possible eight points, the Philadelphia Flyers start a five game road trip Monday night. This week, the Flyers’ schedule has them doubled up on back-to-backs as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, the New Jersey Devils, and the Montreal Canadiens. As of right now, Philadelphia is sitting in 10th place, and is looking up at every single one of their opponents in the standings over the seven-day stretch. Booing is a huge part of sports, right up there with cheering. You cheer for the players and the plays you love, and you boo for everything you hate. The refs, the calls, the players on the opposing team, all of the things you disagree with. It comes with the territory of being a sports fan. The Philadelphia Flyers seem to heading in the right direction after they recorded wins in their last two games. After they lost both the game and a crucial player on Friday, the Orange and Black pulled off back-to-back wins in their last two contests. The Flyers start a four-game week tomorrow, as they finish the seven-day stretch with a pair of games that start a lengthy road trip. On Friday, the Washington Capitals handed Philly a 3-2 loss at the Verizon Center.
