Midseason Prospect Rankings using NHLE

Due to last week’s Christmas break there will be no weekly report so instead I will do something a little different this week. In August I wrote about evaluating Flyers prospects using NHL Equivalanecies or NHLE. For those new to this concept, NHLE allows us to take a player’s stat line in a lesser league and figure out how their offensive performance translates to the NHL. North American Prospect Weekly Report (12-13/12-19)

The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America. Forwards: Tye McGinn was this weeks standout performer. He scored 2 goals and assisted on 5 others over three games which included two 3 point nights. Dave Labrecque also had a strong performance with a goal and an assist in each of his two games. North American Prospect Weekly Review (12/06-12/12)

The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America. Forwards: Tye McGinn only played in one game with the Olympiques, but it was a great one. He scored a hat trick and was the first star of the match. Michael Chaput registered 3 points (1 g, 2 a) in the two games he played. Brendan Ranford’s goal and 2 assists enabled him to take over the WHL lead in scoring. The North American Prospect Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects playing in the various leagues throughout North America. Forwards: Brendan Ranford continues to perform at a better than a point per game clip. He scored a goal, which was the over time game winner, and assisted on two others in two games played. North American Prospect Monthly Review for November

Forwards: Rob Bordson continued to struggle since turning pro. He followed up a bad October (2 assists in 8 games) with an even worse November (1 goal in 11 games). Shane Harper had a productive month in the ECHL (3 G, 6 A in 8GP) to earn himself a promotion to the Phantoms of the AHL where he record 2 assists in 6 games. Ben Holmstrom showed a small improvement this month by recording 4 points, 3 being in goals, in 12 games compared to 1 goal in 11 games last month.
