The holiday season is upon us and, while stockpiling items on our Amazon wish lists, we decided to come up with our own list of things we would want for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2011. Here are our top 10 wishes, minus the most obvious one (a Stanley Cup championship): 10. Cap relief The Flyers have zero need for Matt Walker. They never did. The Flyers play the New Jersey Devils today at 1:00 p.m. in New Jersey. Here are a few thoughts on the matchup: After a slow start, James van Riemsdyk has been the hottest Flyer of late, yet he only saw 7 seconds of powerplay time in the 3-2 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames yesterday. The struggling powerplay could use a boost and he could be the catalyst. Claude Giroux, who led all Flyer forcwards in ice time yesterday (22:49), was off his game against Calgary, despite scoring a gorgeous shootout goal. It couldn’t hurt to give him more of …
