Scott Laughton participated in 32 games for the Oshawa Generals of the OHL before he joined the Philadelphia Flyers’ roster for the start of the 2013 season. The gritty forward suited up for five games with Philly before the Orange and Black sent him down. After a four game home stand which saw them earn seven of a possible eight points, the Philadelphia Flyers start a five game road trip Monday night. This week, the Flyers’ schedule has them doubled up on back-to-backs as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, the New Jersey Devils, and the Montreal Canadiens. Heading into this past offseason, the Flyers two biggest free agents were Jaromir Jagr and Matt Carle. While they had discussions with both, the pursuit of Ryan Suter, Zach Parise, and Shea Weber at various times all contributed to the two ultimately accepting attractive deals with the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning respectively. I will be in Philadelphia! Yes! I have a long weekend break from teaching and I’m heading east and north to see my best friend and be in the city of my team.
