After having only one one-goal loss in a regulation or overtime result in their first 21 games this season, the Phantoms have suffered three one-goal losses in their last four games. Unfortunately for Adirondack, their next two games are with teams against which they have gone just 1-3-0. The Pittsburgh Penguins dominated the last ten minutes of the game, but Jaromir Jagr and Max Talbot got the last laugh against their former team as the Flyers produced enough offense in the first two periods to earn a 3-2 win in Philly tonight. Scott Hartnell tapped home his 13th goal of the season in the crease halfway through the game for his third game-winner of the season. Wayne Simmonds led the way with a goal and an assist, while Ilya Bryzgalov made 25 saves in his fourth straight win. Giroux Nets Third Straight Game-Winner In OT Against Sabres
Providing his third game-winning goal in as many games for Philadelphia, Claude Giroux put home his 16th goal of the season just past the midway point of overtime to hand the Flyers a 5-4 win in Buffalo to cap a rousing contest Wednesday. He also had three assists on the night for a four-point game as Matt Read, Scott Hartnell, and Jaromir Jagr all scored in the second period to turn a Flyers’ 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead heading into the third. The Phantoms started off the week with a pair of wins before finishing with a one-goal loss. The loss was the Phantoms’ first loss since last Thursday and the game concluded violently.
