A rough sketch of the Puckmovers' symbol, the all-seeing eye of the NHL

The ILL-uminati

Sometimes you choose the path, other times it chooses you. It’s time to lift the veil, open your eyes and perceive the flawed world in your 180-degree field of vision for what it really is. Something is rotten in the sport of hockey, in a place far, far to the West of Denmark. The Philadelphia Flyers mysteriously failed to materialize Ryan Suter, and Zach Parise, and then coveted restricted free agent and super amazing defenseman Shea Weber. Holmgren talks Weber and more 7/25/12

Courtesy of the Philadelphia Flyers Q: Because of the way the offer sheet to Shea Weber was front-loaded, did you expect Nashville to match it? “No, it was structured where we were hopeful that they wouldn’t match it. But, obviously they did and as I said yesterday we wish Shea and the Predators all the best. We tried to add, in our minds, one of the best defenseman in the game to a good, young, up-and-coming team, and it didn’t work.” Q: When did you learn that [The Predators] were going to match [the offer sheet], and how much of …
