Future Flyers Report: McGinn’s quiet return to NHL, Larsson traded in the USHL

After taking part in six NHL games earlier in the season, Tye McGinn made his way back to the Philadelphia Flyers’ lineup this weekend, as both Matt Read and Zac Rinaldo were out with injuries. His two-game tenure with the squad wasn’t as noticeable as his time with the team earlier in the campaign. McGinn failed to register a point and produced one shot on net overall in his two games, as he worked on two different lines in Philly’s loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday and played with Sean Couturier and Vincent Lecavalier on Sunday in the …

Lundqvist shines in Rangers’ win over Flyers

A slow start paired with Henrik Lundqvist producing a great game for the opposition led to the Philadelphia Flyers’ 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers tonight. The Blueshirts’ goaltender had a 37-save effort, while Chris Kreider produced a two-point performance with a goal and an assist. Varlamov leads Avalanche past short-handed Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers put forth a valiant effort, but Semyon Varlamov and the Colorado Avalanche did enough to edge out the 2-1 win at home to snap the Flyers’ four-game winning streak. Varlamov bailed out his team several times in a 29-save effort, as both Jamie McGinn and Ryan O’Reilly scored tonight for the host team. Steve Mason made just as many saves, but unfortunately saw one more shot on the night, as Wayne Simmonds had the lone marker for the Orange and Black. With Matt Read already out of the lineup, Philadelphia suffered another setback when Michael Raffl was …
