Anaheim Ducks (9-3-0) @ Philadelphia Flyers (3-7-0), 7:00pm, CSN-Philly/PRIME After a pair of wins, the Philadelphia Flyers find themselves sitting at 3-7-0 and arguably still searching for their first impressive victory of the season. With one win coming against a Florida Panthers team that saw Tim Thomas let in two soft goals and a sloppy win against the New York Rangers, the Orange and Black did look strong against the New York Islanders for their third win of the year on Saturday. However, it did come against Kevin Poulin and a squad who just played against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pennsylvania …

Flight Plan: Taking Off

The Philadelphia Flyers have now won two games in a row, both against divisional rivals in the New York Rangers and New York Islanders, and have finally lit the lamp more than two times in one game. More importantly perhaps, the team is finally healthy as Scott Hartnell and Vincent Lecavalier have both returned from injury. Lecavalier now has four goals and six points on the season, three of which came yesterday as he skated for the second game in a row with captain Claude Giroux and rookie Michael Raffl. News and Rumor Roundup: Newbury to Adirondack, Timonen’s demotion, Thomas Vanek

  The Flyers have sent Kris Newbury back to the Adirondack Phantoms per Anthony SanFilippo. The combination of the play of Tye McGinn and Michael Raffl as well as the return of Vincent Lecavalier made Newbury expendable. He’ll be remembered for that keen assist against the Hurricanes and for not being Jay Rosehill.   Kimmo Timonen has apparently been demoted to the second power play unit in favor of Mark Streit. This makes a ton of sense given how many times Kimmo has fumbled the puck at the blue line and Streit’s excellent slap shot on the man advantage this …
