Five Questions 2013 NHL Entry Draft: Defense, goaltending and draft strategies

Flyers Faithful is pleased to have Adam Kimelman from NHL.com, Mark Edwards from HockeyProspect.com,  Chris Shafer from Hockey’s Future, Todd Cordell from The Hockey Guys and HockeyBuzz and our very own Jared Abbott participate in the current iteration of Five Questions. This is the first of a five part series focusing on the upcoming draft. The Flyers have little patience with developing young defensemen and little success at drafting high caliber goalies. Are there any players in this upcoming draft that would be a surefire bet to succeed in one of those positions? If so, is it worth it for the Flyers to …

Review: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly: Philadelphia Flyers

I finally finished it. If you’re the type to keep track, I believe I started this sucker sometime this past August. Then we had that event that must not be named and the book got put to the side as I took a break from Flyers Faithful because for me, no Flyers to watch was a major block on my writing inspiration. Below is a list of books that I’ve been thinking about purchasing. Tell me which one you’d prefer I start with. You can comment on this post or email me at ecnewman@flyersfaithful.com. The Good, the Bad & the Ugly Philadelphia Flyers: Heart-pounding, Jaw-dropping, …

Five Questions: Parise and/or Suter?

Flyers Faithful is pleased to have Adam Kimelman of NHL.com, Marc Siciliano of Kukla’s Corner, Dan MacNeal of Crimespree Hockey, James Minger of Flyers-Philia, and Flyers Faithful’s own Kevin Christmann participate in the current iteration of Five Questions. This is the fifth of a five-part series focusing on Free Agency that will run all week. Do you see the Flyers as major players for one or both of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter? (note: our participants’ answers were captured prior to the JVR trade.) Adam Kimelman: I think with the Flyers’ biggest need being on defense, I think they will be major players for Suter. If they lose out on him, I think they …
