The Flyers started their week, and concluded their road trip, with an exciting 6-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center. Blake Kessel is regarded as one of the better defenseman on the Trenton Titans. At 6’2″, 203 pounds, Kessel does a great job in his own end of the rink and can pitch in offensively as well. This weekend, Kessel had a three-assist game on Saturday and a two-point game yesterday. Thanks to Stephen Schultz’s four-goal game on Saturday, Kessel showed his ability to start a scoring …

Special teams lift Phantoms past Senators

The Adirondack Phantoms finished their third game in just as many nights with a win over the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, by a score of 2-1 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The 3,127 who attended bore witness to the Phantoms (21-27-3) wearing Dax-themed jerseys to celebrate the mascots birthday (My head is still shaking just thinking about it). Special teams were the big highlight for the worn-out Phantoms. After killing the first of what would be two 5-on-3 advantages, the Phantoms went on the power play where Matt Mangene received a pass from Jason Akeson and skated down the right …

Phantoms-Falcons game suspended due to scary incident

On Sunday, Adirondack Phantoms defenseman Brandon Manning was party to something no player wishes will ever happen, even in the heat of battle, not to himself, a teammate, nor a member of the opposition. Manning and Falcons’ Wade MacLeod collided with 3:42 remaining in the second period of a game in Springfield, MA, one in which the Phantoms led by a 2-1 score. The force of the hit dropped MacLeod to the ice, and the 26-year-old winger suffered a seizure as a result of the impact, though not until he was skating back to the bench. He was carted off …
