Flyers Faithful Christmas List 2013

I asked the Flyers Faithful staff what they wanted for Christmas. All they got was some cheap lottery tickets and a few mints that I had lying around in my coat pockets. But, here’s their list anyway:   Marcello De Feo (Flyers Faithful Founder, Fan of Alliteration) Back in 2010, when Flyers Faithful created its first Christmas wish list, I wanted nothing more than to see the healthy, triumphant return of Ian Laperriere. Three years later, I find myself wanting something similar. It has been over two years since the last time Chris Pronger played a game and it remains …

You might remember this guy from such roles as Flyers 2013 defenseman

The (positive) outlook on defense

It is unlikely that this offseason will feature more than two big moves on defense for the Flyers. There will be no Keith Yandle, Alex Pietrangelo or Shea Weber patrolling Philadelphia’s blue line. The Flyers have been interested in Yandle for a few years now and they finally managed to get him. Well, not him. They go Mark Streit and he’s kind of like Yandle. However, I can’t help but wonder if this means the Flyers would consider trading one of their young forwards. I know I’m not alone, as Charlie O’Connor of The Hockey Guys recently expressed a similar thought. First and foremost, I’d like to state that this is purely my opinion and there is …

Rumors and Rumblings! Incoming Alex Pietrangelo offer sheet?

Did it come as a surprise to anyone that the first rumor regarding the Philadelphia Flyers involves upgrading a defense that has struggled the majority of the season?  The Flyers defense was plagued with injuries and inconsistency throughout the year, resulting in just their second missed playoff appearance in 18 seasons. According to Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com, another offer sheet could be in the Flyers’ offseason plans.  This year’s target could be Alex Pietrangelo of the St. Louis Blues.  The 23-year-old defenseman is on the final year of his entry level contract and is due for a major raise. Panaccio states, …
