It seems a bit silly to think that the signing of a 24 year old who was “only” playing in the second-best league in Sweden might affect what the Flyers choose to do with some of their other young players; namely Matt Read, Brayden Schenn, and Sean Couturier. Rumors and Rumblings! Incoming Alex Pietrangelo offer sheet?

Did it come as a surprise to anyone that the first rumor regarding the Philadelphia Flyers involves upgrading a defense that has struggled the majority of the season?  The Flyers defense was plagued with injuries and inconsistency throughout the year, resulting in just their second missed playoff appearance in 18 seasons. The Flyers won two of their three games this week, as the club is still trying to turn things around before the playoffs. Although they are 4-5-2 since the All-Star break, Philly won two of their last three games.
