Minor League Update: 3/12-3/18

The Phantoms dropped all three of their games this week, as they currently sit three points out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Although they sit 13th in the conference with 63 points, the Phantoms are still within striking distance of the Syracuse Crunch (Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate), a team Adirondack lost to twice in the last seven days. The Phantoms’ first loss to the Crunch came on Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Denis Hamel’s 19th goal of the season, which came on a 5-on-3 advantage due to an interference minor …

The Phantoms had another strong week, as they recorded a pair of wins to extend their winning streak to four games before they lost yesterday. Adirondack will see if they can extend that winning streak to four games this week, as they hit the road after a pair of home contests. With the game tied at one in the third period Friday against the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins’ AHL affiliate), Andrew Rowe gained the game-winner on a penalty …

The end of their four-game road trip wasn’t pretty for the Flyers, as their only two points came in a shootout win against the Calgary Flames on Saturday night. With a pair of shutout losses, the Flyers have now been shut out five times this season. The Flyers hope two games against Eastern Conference teams below them in the standings will help them gain ground in a fight for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. On Thursday, the Flyers failed to put a puck past Devan Dubnyk a single time in a 2-0 loss against the Edmonton Oilers. Taylor …

Although they are 13th in the Eastern Conference, the Phantoms, who have two road games and one game in Adirondack over the next few days, are five points out of eighth place. To start the week, the Phantoms were shut out on the road by David Leggio and the Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres’ AHL affiliate) on Friday night by …

The win was the Flyers’ second since the All-Star break, as they are 2-4-2 since the break with both wins coming at home. Philly looks forward to two games against Eastern Conference teams outside the playoff picture in the next few days, as well as a meeting with the Penguins to determine crucial points in the standings. On Thursday, Brayden Schenn potted the game-winner in the second period to give the Flyers just enough …

Minor League Update: 2/6-2/12

The Phantoms continue to struggle, as they dropped their pair of games this week to extend their losing streak to three games. Adirondack has only won one out of their last nine games and are currently on an eight-game losing streak away from the Glens Falls Civic Center. They will have a chance to end both skids with three away games and four games overall in the next seven days. Dustin Tokarski recorded his third shutout of the season on Friday night, as the Norfolk Admirals (Tampa Bay Lightning’s AHL affiliate) beat the visiting Phantoms 2-0. Tokarski stopped all 17 …
