The Phantoms dropped all three of their games this week, as they currently sit three points out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. Although they sit 13th in the conference with 63 points, the Phantoms are still within striking distance of the Syracuse Crunch (Anaheim Ducks’ AHL affiliate), a team Adirondack lost to twice in the last seven days. The Phantoms’ first loss to the Crunch came on Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Phantoms lost their first game of the week, but won their last two to win back-to-back games for the first time since the middle of January. With their shootout win and one-goal victory, the Phantoms are looking for their first three-game winning streak since early December. Although they are 13th in the Eastern Conference, the Phantoms, who have two road games and one game in Adirondack over the next few days, are five points out of eighth place. The Adirondack Phantoms won half of their games this week, as they ended their lengthy road losing streak in the process. After they went without a single road win in the months of December and January, the Phantoms finally earned a win away from home. Adirondack will try to climb back into the playoff picture this week, as they finish their four-game road trip before they return home on Sunday. The Phantoms continue to struggle, as they dropped their pair of games this week to extend their losing streak to three games. Adirondack has only won one out of their last nine games and are currently on an eight-game losing streak away from the Glens Falls Civic Center. They will have a chance to end both skids with three away games and four games overall in the next seven days. With a trio of losses this week, the Adirondack Phantoms extended their losing streak to five games. Over their five-game losing streak, the Phantoms have been out scored 20-7, as the team has suffered two four-goal losses. The Phantoms hope the AHL’s All-Star break will end their misery as of late, as they have a three-game home stand over the next several days. For their third straight loss, the Phantoms dropped a 5-1 decision at the Verizon Wireless Arena to the Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings’ AHL affiliate) on Wednesday night. The Adirondack Phantoms could only notch one win this week despite taking part in four contests, as they went 1-1-0 at home and 0-2-0 on the road. The Adirondack Phantoms may have lost two of their three games this week, but their lone win will be their most memorable victory all season long. After yet another loss to the Binghamton Senators (the Ottawa Senators’ AHL affiliate), the Phantoms split a home-and-home with the Hershey Bears (the Washington Capitals’ AHL affiliate) providing a dramatic win that took place at the AHL’s outdoor game on Friday. The last two games for the Flyers haven’t been pretty, but there is good news related to the team’s point-leader. Claude Giroux is expected to make a return in the near future, the earliest being tonight’s game against the Dallas Stars, from his concussion. This is good news considering the status of Chris Pronger, who will not take part in another game at any point this season or for the playoffs.
