Although the Trenton Titans lost all three of their games this weekend to extend their losing streak to four, they managed to pick up a pair of points to gain a little ground in the standings. The Titans have only won one of their last seven contents, as their lone victory came in a high-scoring shootout. With seven losses in their last nine games, Trenton hopes a four-game homestand this week starts to point them in a positive direction. Despite the fact that the Trenton Titans allowed 12 goals in their pair of games this past weekend against the Elmira Jackals — the Ottawa Senators’ affiliate — the Titans managed to split the series at the Sun National Bank Center. Trenton’s record improved to 2-2-0 against the Jackals this season and 8-10-1 for the 2012-2013 campaign. The Titans look to move up in the standings with two contests this weekend in Charleston against the South Carolina Stingrays. The Philadelphia Flyers acquired Tony Amonte in March of 2003 from the Phoenix Coyotes, rescuing the Boston native from an underwhelming free agent situation. In exchange for the veteran forward, Philly gave the Coyotes Guillaume Lefebvre, a third-round pick in the 2003 NHL Draft (with which they chose Tyler Redenbach), and a second-round pick in the 2004 NHL Draft. The 60th overall pick eventually landed in the hands of the New York Rangers, who selected Brandon Dubinsky from the Portland Winterhawks. Paul Holmgren became the interim General Manager of the Philadelphia Flyers on October 22, 2006. That interim title was removed only weeks later on November 11. Holmgren was able to take a team that finished last in the National Hockey League, and rebuild it to make a deep run all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals the very next season. Ryan Callahan has played five seasons with the New York Rangers. Before the start of the 2011-2012 NHL campaign, Callahan was named the Rangers’ captain, an honor he holds at the moment as well. Dennis Seidenberg has had a respectable career. He has represented his native Germany three times at the Olympics and won the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011. In addition to that, Seidenberg helped the Carolina Hurricanes make a deep and unexpected run to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2009. The blue liner was snagged by Philly in the 2001 draft and was dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes during the first season back after the last lockout. Kris Beech started his season with HC Pardubice. He was supposed to be a star, but was unable to live up those expectations and had to wait 11 games for his first goal.
