Report: Penn State Seeking Replacement for Home Opener

With the government shutdown in full effect it’s unclear whether or not Army will be able to travel to Penn State Friday to play the Nittany Lions in the Pegula Ice Arena opener. Mike McMahon of College Hockey News reported Monday on Twitter that Penn State was searching for a replacement team and may have actually found one. Kyle Rossi of Thank You Terry examined a couple possible solutions Penn State can go with should Army not be able to travel to University Park. Well that didn’t take too long did it?  Less than 72 hours after Jack Parker’s final game guiding the Boston University men’s ice hockey program, the school found his replacement — and they decided to keep in the family. At a Tuesday morning press conference former Terrier defenseman and current Colorado Avalanche assistant coach, David Quinn was introduced as the man who will succeed Parker. Quinn, a native a Cranston, RI, was a first-round pick (13th overall) of the Minnesota North Stars back in 1984 out of Kent High School in Connecticut.
