Phantoms Recall Goaltender Carsen Chubak From ECHL

On Saturday, the Adirondack Phantoms announced that they had recalled goaltender Carsen Chubak from the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL. This move appears to have been made due to the injury sustained by Phantoms goaltender Yann Danis in Friday night’s game against the Albany Devils. Danis was injured in a collision with several players about nine minutes into the first period, and Cal Heeter came in to replace him for the rest of the game. The Phantoms goaltending situation for next season might have become a little clearer on Sunday, as the organization added heralded goaltender Carsen Chubak to an American Hockey League deal. As a junior, the 24-year-old backstop helped guide his program to an NCAA Tournament berth — a loss to North Dakota — but finished tied for first in all of D-I with six shutouts, along with a 1.91 goals-against average, .939 save percentage and 23-7-5 record.
