The Philadelphia Flyers have just one win through four games of a six game road trip. To say that the Flyers aren’t very good on the road is an understatement at this point, as they have the worst record in the NHL away from home at 2-8-0. The Philadelphia Flyers seem to heading in the right direction after they recorded wins in their last two games. After they lost both the game and a crucial player on Friday, the Orange and Black pulled off back-to-back wins in their last two contests. The Flyers start a four-game week tomorrow, as they finish the seven-day stretch with a pair of games that start a lengthy road trip. On Friday, the Washington Capitals handed Philly a 3-2 loss at the Verizon Center. The Philadelphia Flyers had a strong final 40 minutes, but unfortunately the first 20 cost them, as they lost their first game of the 2013 season 3-1 to the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins. James Neal had what turned out to be the game-winner just 7:20 into the contest, while Marc-Andre Fleury kept 27 of the 28 shots the Flyers threw at him out of the net. The Philadelphia Flyers came out and beat the Pittsburgh Penguins today at the Wells Fargo Center 8-4 to move to within one victory of an Eastern Conference Semifinals’ appearance. Down 2-0, 3-1, 4-3, and 5-4 in tonight’s contest, the Flyers overcame every deficit they saw to ultimately win Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series against the Pittsburgh Penguins at CONSOL Energy Center. Jaromir Jagr produced the game-winner 9:13 into the third period, while both Sean Couturier and Claude Giroux posted hat tricks to increase the Flyers’ lead to 2-0 in the series. Couturier added on an assist for a four-point night, while Giroux was credited with three assists for a six-point night — one which set a new franchise single-game playoff record.
