The biggest news of the week, in terms of where former Philadelphia Flyers went, is Michael Leighton signing in the KHL. The former Flyer did not play a single game as a Columbus Blue Jacket in 2013, as he has joined Donbass Donetsk for the 2013-2014 campaign. Leighton didn’t play a single game for the Flyers in 2011-2012 and only appeared in one game during the 2013 shortened season. In 2004, the Philadelphia Flyers handed the Tampa Bay Lightning a fifth-round pick and two sixth-round picks in the 2004 NHL Draft in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2005 NHL Draft. The Bolts selected Brandon Elliott, Jan Zapletal, and Karri Ramo with the picks Philly made in the deal. The Orange and Black took defenseman Oskars Bartulis with the final pick in the third round.
