Despite a cloud of suspicion for his late Summer activities, Nick Cousins leads all Philadelphia Flyers prospects in scoring so far this season. The fact he has played more games than any other forward on the list shouldn’t take away from what he has done to this point. Not only does he lead his team — the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds — in points, which is currently a margin of 10 over right winger Sergey Tolchinsky, Cousins sits seventh overall in the Ontario Hockey League with 27 points over 18 games. Future Flyers Report: 10/22

FORWARDS: Thanks to the fact the OHL is the league furthest into their 2012-2013 season, skaters from the Ontario Hockey League lead both lists in this week’s Future Flyers Report standings. Both Nick Cousins and Scott Laughton have played 13 games so far this season, but Cousins has two more goals and four more assists than Laughton for a six-point lead at the top of the forwards’ list. I would like to spend the next several weeks examining the Flyers farm system to take stock of what type of prospects they actually have so we can look for areas of strength and need. The Future Flyers Weekly Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects. Forwards: Marcel Noebels finally broke out offensively , scoring four goals and assisting on two in three games with Portland. Nick Cousins added four more points (2g, 2a) to his totals last week which moved him up to 7th overall in the OHL scoring race.
