Flight Plan: Rough Skies Ahead

The Philadelphia Flyers are four games into their six-game road trip and are 2-2-0. This past week they were 1-2-0, beating the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 6-3, but losing to the Minnesota Wild, 2-0, and getting shellacked by the Dallas Stars, 5-1. Steve Mason allowed more than three goals for the first time since coming over to Philadelphia late last season, but through no fault of his own. The Stars’ top line of Jamie Benn, Valeri Nichushkin, and Tyler Seguin was dominant. Seguin scored a natural hat trick as the three players combined for a total of …

OH, it’s just the Beginning! Halak, Coburn and more!

With the draft a little over 24 hours away, the rumor mill has begun to churn at full pace.  General Managers are getting a feeling of who is available and for what price.  Over the next 24 hours leading up to the draft you can fully expect the rumors to come in at an unbelievable rate.  Teams will be desperately trying to get cap compliant since it will be dropping from 70.2 million to 64.3 million this year as well.  This is only the beginning, but we have some interesting rumors already hitting the twittersphere. Of course the Philadelphia …

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! That name is none other than Anaheim Ducks forward, and Cherry Hill native, Bobby Ryan. Bobby …

Rumor Mill: Flyers kicking the tires on Ryan Miller?

One thing the Philadelphia Flyers fan base will never cease to hear about is how we have not had a capable number one goalie in this city for 20 odd years.  Two years ago, with the signing of Ilya Bryzgalov (Bryz), the Flyer front office hoped to solve the riddle between the pipes.  Instead, it has been less than pleasant for Bryzgalov’s tenure in Philadelphia.  With the potential of an amnesty buyout looming for certain Flyers, they will be looking to upgrade every position going into the offseason. According to Eklund of Hockbuzz.com, the Flyers are interested in Buffalo Sabres’ …

Flight Plan: Seven Games Left

The Philadelphia Flyers have seven games remaining in their 2013 season. Yesterday they lost to the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 1-0. They are not technically mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but they will be this week with relative ease. Even if they win out, the Flyers would need all of the teams above them to lose just about every game. Four of the seven games on Philadelphia’s docket are this week against the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Rangers, the New Jersey Devils, and the Carolina Hurricanes. You can purchase tickets to all Flyers games here: http://www.tiqiq.com/nhl/philadelphia-flyers-tickets/?publisherid=1260333 Danny Briere …
