Flyers wallop Panthers, earn second consecutive win

Coming off of their first win of the season the Flyers were eager to take that number to two against a Florida Panthers team that were the mirror image of the Flyers through four games. While the Flyers lost their first three contests before getting a win, the Panthers had lost three in a row since winning their season opener. After a great effort with a shorthanded lineup against the Rangers on Thursday the Flyers welcomed a couple players back to lineup, amongst a myriad of other changes. GDT: Flyers vs. Sabres

The Flyers will try to bounce back from a rough loss against the Pittsburgh Penguins by spoiling the Buffalo Sabres’ season opener at First Niagra Center at 12:30 today. Former Sabre, Danny Briere, is expected to be out of the lineup again. Will the Flyers have a strong first period today? Can the power play be productive? Without difficult assignments like shutting down Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, will the Flyers be more of an offensive threat? We will find out the answers to those questions and more shortly.

  Now Boarding: Finally the National Hockey League’s brand of professional ice hockey will be back where it belongs: on the ice, in the arenas, in front of the fans in those buildings and at home.
