A Look on the Flyers Bright Side (and not so bright side): Voracek, Giroux, Simmonds, Couturier and more over the last 10 games

Sigh, the Flyers. I could probably end this right here and have summed up the feelings of thousands of Flyers fans. There have been a few bright spots in this otherwise dim, dreary season for our Flyers. It’s hard to put your finger on just one thing that is wrong with this season, but to be honest there’s only a couple of things going right, so naturally they are easy to point out. I wanted to really see if we should have seen this coming, so I looked at the top 4 performing Flyers so far this season and compared …

Flight Plan: Struggles Continue

This was a good week to see how the Philadelphia Flyers stack up against some of the elite teams in the Eastern Conference. The results however, were not good. The Flyers, now losers of three straight, will look to find any kind of way to get back on track and win some games going forward of they will be golfing in May instead of playing Stanley Cup Playoff hockey. Later today the Flyers will host the Buffalo Sabres, then have a home and home against the New Jersey Devils. Tuukka Rask stopped all 23 shots from the Flyers for his second shutout of the year, as the trio of Tyler Seguin, Chris Kelly, and Daniel Paille beat Ilya Bryzgalov in a span of 2:18. Philly’s netminder made 25 stops, as the loss extended the Flyers’ losing streak to three games. “I think I saw pretty much every puck,” Rask said after …

Callahan and Nash Push Rangers Past Flyers

Ryan Callahan and Rick Nash each registered two goals tonight, as the New York Rangers handed the Philadelphia Flyers a 4-2 loss at Madison Square Garden. Henrik Lundqvist recorded the win with 23 stops, while Wayne Simmonds and Jakub Voracek were the only two visitors to beat New York’s goaltender this evening. The loss snaps Philly’s two-game winning streak. The Flyers came out and dominated the first segment of the third period, but couldn’t beat Lundqvist to gain the lead. After the Blueshirts avoided the Flyers’ flurry in the beginning of the period, Nash came down the ice and ripped …
