Fake Hockey Help: Flyers’ offense, Steen’s shooting percentage, and Varlamov’s issues off the ice

One statistic several people are referencing as to why they think the Philadelphia Flyers’ offense will rebound is shooting percentage. Of the 24 skaters to suit up for at least one game for the Orange and Black this season only Tye McGinn (42.9), Vincent Lecavalier (19.2), Braydon Coburn (15.4), and Brayden Schenn have (12.0) have shooting percentages over 10 percent. According to QuantHockey.com, the average shooting percentage across the NHL hovers around the 9.0 mark, as the average right now is 8.89, last season’s average was 9.11, and the 2011-2012 campaign produced 8.94.
