Trenton Update: 1/4-1/10

The Trenton Titans’ two-game skid turned into a five-game losing streak this week, as the squad dropped all three games on their schedule with a record of 0-2-1. Just as the Flyers’ ECHL affiliate gained a lot of ground in the Eastern Conference with a winning streak a few weeks ago, the team dropped right out of the playoff picture with a losing streak, as Trenton sits 12th in the conference at the moment. A pair of tilts against a team three points ahead of them in the East and a contest against the team leading their division give the …

Trenton Update: 12/28-1/3

The Trenton Titans saw their five-game win streak and their seven-game point streak snapped this week, as the squad lost a pair of games to the Conference-leading Reading Royals. Although the Titans managed to eke out an overtime victory last Thursday against their division rival, Trenton lost back-to-back contests to Reading on Friday and Saturday to suffer consecutive losses for the first time since December 8-9. Friday’s setback was nearly a spectacular comeback, as the Titans lost 5-4 at the Sovereign Center. Stephen Schultz registered his 10th goal of the season and assisted on two others for his second three-point performance …

One of those three American d-men is Shayne Gostisbehere, who was picked in the most recent draft. The Margate, Florida native is currently representing the U.S.A. at the World Junior Championship. Trenton Update: 12/21-12/27

All that separates the Toledo Walleye, the team sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference, and the Evansville IceMen, who sit last in the Eastern Conference, is 10 points. With that being said, a team that was in the Trenton Titans’ position of being out of the playoff picture can quickly change with a string of wins. Over the last two weeks, that’s exactly what the Titans have done to move from the bottom of the conference to seventh in the East. Hopefully Trenton can keep the momentum going this weekend, as they take part in a home-and-home with the dreaded Reading …

Future Flyers Report: 12/24

Marcel Noebels was picked 118th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round of the 2011 NHL Draft and holds the distinction of being the only German forward Philly has ever drafted, as Dennis Seidenberg is the franchise’s only German blue liner ever selected when he went in the sixth round back in 2001. After he completed his second straight 50-point season in the Western Hockey League of Canadian juniors last year, Noebels joined the Trenton Titans at the start of this year and is currently one of the youngest players on the team. In his first season as a professional, Noebels is …

He is expected to miss a large part of the season, but there still is a chance he returns before the end of the year. He may not boast the most …

Trenton Update: 12/7-12/13

Although the Trenton Titans lost all three of their games this weekend to extend their losing streak to four, they managed to pick up a pair of points to gain a little ground in the standings. The Titans have only won one of their last seven contents, as their lone victory came in a high-scoring shootout. With seven losses in their last nine games, Trenton hopes a four-game homestand this week starts to point them in a positive direction. The Titans dropped their first contest last weekend at the North Charleston Coliseum by a score of 3-2 in overtime on …
