A player who will most likely be remembered for an infamous injury in the playoffs, Patrick Thoresen was a respectable 4th liner for the Flyers during the latter part of the 2007-2008 NHL season. In his 35 games in a Flyers’ uniform, Thoresen didn’t register a single goal, but did post seven assists (two in the postseason). However, the success of Thoresen’s game was measured more in defense and sweat rather than goals and assists. “The morning after” is a review of the previous night’s Flyers’ game which, in theory, provides a more objective perspective on the game. Overall, last night’s 9-3 loss against the Buffalo Sabres was a forgettable one but there is no reason to be worried. The Flyers only dressed a handful of players who will be on the opening night roster. Bill Guerin played his last unimpressive game of the preseason and, quite possibly, in a Flyers uniform. The local media was unanimously doubtful that Guerin would be offered a contract. Frank Seravalli hints that Andreas Nodl may make the team. …
