Five Reasons I Love The Flyers: Geoff Mang

Asking why I love the Flyers is like asking why I love my parents. The Stick Prior to this moment I don’t recall knowing what hockey or the Flyers were. It was 1987 and I was in kindergarten. My father wasn’t really into sports, he was the outdoorsy type – fishing, outdooring – so my exposure to the 4 main sports was minimum (I did play soccer only to quit by age 8 like every other American child). One day while I was playing in the dirt on my small NE Philly street an object caught my eye. It was …

Five Reasons I Love The Flyers: Hal Greenblatt

Flyers Faithful’s own Hal Greenblatt grew up just outside of Philadelphia in Ambler, PA. He attended Temple University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Mites On Ice You’ve seen the Mites on Ice during intermissions at Flyers games.  When I was five years old I got to do that …

Five Reasons I Love the Flyers: Sheila Masterson

Sheila is a 26-year-old writer, avid yogi, huge bacon fan, and even huger Flyers fan.  She loves all things hockey except when a game is on NBC…then she loves the mute button.  She believes that the unholy duo of Mike Milbury and Pierre McGuire should be banished from hockey forever.  Also, she could give you at least ten more reasons why she loves the Flyers if you asked her. You can follow her on Twitter for in-game sarcasm. 1. Depth At the halfway point of the season the Flyers already had nine players in double digits with goals. There is …
