Flyperbole: Rumor Ruminations on Andrej Meszaros, Dustin Byfuglien

MEZ DISPENSER CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty took a look at potential trade targets for the Bruins with Dennis Seidenberg out, and the Flyers’ own Andrej Meszaros came up. Per Haggerty: Probability: this actually seems feasible if the price was a prospect and draft pick that weren’t top drawer from the Bruins. This sounds like a perfect price for the Flyers, who have a bit of a logjam at defense and are most likely not going to bring Meszaros back next year. If this deal is possible, then the Flyers should highly consider it. The main reason for hesitation on the Flyers’ …

First-period struggles in one game will be third-period struggles in the next. And they can give up 4-goal leads just as easily as they can get them, if not even moreso. The offense struggles sometimes, and the defense struggles sometimes. The one constant has been …

Flyers’ point streak snapped with injury-riddled loss in Columbus

The Columbus Blue Jackets produced a memorable third period of their own tonight, as they potted four goals in the final 20 minutes at home to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3. Ryan Johansen and R.J. Umberger each had two-goal games as Nikita Nikitin and Corey Tropp each had two assists, while Curtis McElhinney earned the victory with 33 saves. Wayne Simmonds, who had a two-goal game, and Sean Couturier scored 20 seconds apart late in the second period to make it a 2-2 game heading into the third period, but the Flyers fell apart this time around in the final stanza. To …

They enter tonight’s game without a goal in their last 77:58 of …
