Flyperbole: Rumor Ruminations on Brayden Schenn, Luke Schenn, Sean Couturier

Rumors, rumors, winning certainly doesn’t stop them. Brayden Schenn seems to be the focus of the rumor mill this week.   BRAYDEN BONANZA Darren Dreger mentioned on TSN that he’s been hearing Brayden Schenn’s name pop up in trade rumors. Per the transcript on TSN:   “Now the Flyers aren’t trying to push out Schenn – they may want to push out his brother Luke – but what they’ve told teams quietly is that if there is the right deal available, if they can find the right fit, then absolutely they would include Brayden Schenn in a trade scenario. Welcome back everyone. The 2013-2014 NHL Regular Season is finally upon us. Tuesday is the first day of the season for a handful of teams, and the Philadelphia Flyers, who finished their preseason off at a dismal 0-5-1, are ready to kick off their year on Wednesday with a home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, before travelling up to Canada to play the Montreal Canadiens this Saturday. Schenn Records First Game-Winning Goal In NHL, Flyers Beat Leafs 4-3

Brayden Schenn scored his sixth goal of the season late in the second period for his first game-winning goal in the NHL, as the Flyers ended their season-high three-game losing streak. Max Talbot and Claude Giroux were the other two Flyers to score in the second period. Talbot’s redirection gave the Flyers’ a 2-1 lead, while Giroux gave the Flyers’ a 3-2 lead during the later stages of the middle stanza. Tyler Bozak was the …

Atlantic Watch: 1/18-1/24

The Flyers went 2-1-1 in a week that featured a lot of ups and downs for the guys in Orange and Black. After a week that featured a loss to the Islanders, a Scott Hartnell record a natural hat trick, and their first shootout win of the season, the Flyers are still trailing the Rangers for the top spot in the division. With one game this week, the Flyers look to gain ground in the division as well as beat a team they have already lost to twice this season. The Flyers started the week off with a 4-1 loss to …

Flight Plan Week of 10.23.2011

The Philadelphia Flyers started out of the gate as one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League, winning four of their first five games and getting points in all five of them. Since then, they have suffered two embarrassing (though in different ways) back-to-back losses on home ice at the hands of the Washington Capitals and the St. Louis Blues. To lose to the Capitals by a score of 5-2 when they’re one of the hotter teams in the NHL at the beginning of the season, and just about every bounce goes the way of the opposition, well …
