Flyers hang on for 2-1 win in Berube’s debut

In his coaching debut, Craig Berube helped the Philadelphia Flyers squeak out a 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers for the team’s first victory of the 2013-2014 campaign. Brayden Schenn and Braydon Coburn produced goals in the first period that proved to be enough, while Steve Mason was impressive in the win with a 33-save performance. The story of the game for the Orange and Black in their first contest under their new head coach was Mason’s performance paired with their inability to exit their own zone. “At times I did, and at times I didn’t,” said Berube when asked …

Waiving of Hall leaves questions unanswered among the forward group

The Philadelphia Flyers waived Adam Hall on Saturday and he cleared waivers on Sunday. While he has yet to be sent to down to the Phantoms, you can’t help but wonder what is in store for the forward group. It’s entirely possible (probably even likely) that we see additional moves before the season begins, but I seriously scratch my head with this one. Any plan that potentially has Jay Rosehill in your regular twelve forwards is not a plan that I like. The Flyers forward group currently consists of Giroux, Voracek, Hartnell, Lecavalier, Schenn, Simmonds, Couturier, Read, Talbot, Laughton, Rinaldo, …
