The Philadelphia Flyers were able to extend their point streak to four games this week, as they earned a shootout loss to the Florida Panthers and an overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Although they were dominated in Toronto, the Orange and Black did a good job of rebounding to earn their second road win of the year last night in Winnipeg. The Flyers continue their road trip with three of their six games away from the Wells Fargo Center coming in the next seven days. Flyers send Hurricanes home with another Saturday loss

Danny Briere scored his second goal of the season at 1:47 of overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers sent Carolina Hurricanes home with a loss for the second straight Saturday, winning 4-3. Briere took an outlet pass from Nicklas Grossmann along the boards, crossed up the defense, and sent a wrist shot, which deflected off the far post and then off the backside of ‘Canes goalie Cam Ward and over the goal line. Timonen to come back for one more year

There have been rumblings, which finally came true. The steadiest defenseman to patrol the Philadelphia Flyers blueline since Eric Desjardins has decided to return for one more season. Kimmo Timonen will be back in Orange and Black in 2013-14, thanks to a one-year deal worth $6,000,000. Eklund was first with the news, citing an undisclosed teammate on Wednesday night who hinted that the 37-year-old Finn was going to re-up. Timonen has contributed 28 goals and 211 points over 327 regular-season games since coming over in a July, 2007 deal, and has soldiered through a number of injuries as he has …
