Matt Read provided an excellent game-winning goal for the Flyers on Thursday, but that was the only good news Philly received all week as they are currently enduring a two-game losing streak with several key players missing the lineup in the process. To say this was a rough week for the Flyers would be an understatement. They managed to pull out one victory this week, but it came at the cost of losing Chris Pronger to a nasty eye injury. Philly started off the season with a 2-1 win against the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Boston Bruins in Beantown, then recorded a dominant 3-0 shutout in New Jersey to end a 101-game drought during the regular season and playoffs combined. Flyers trade Versteeg
According to TSN, the Flyers traded forward, Kris Versteeg, to the Florida Panthers for a 2012 or 2013 2nd round pick as well as a 2012 3rd round pick that originally belonged to San Jose. Versteeg was acquired from Toronto for a 1st and 3rd round draft pick in 2011. This deal frees up $3,083,333 in cap space.
