Edmonton Oilers (4-11-2) @ Philadelphia Flyers (4-10-1), 1:00pm, NHL Network/CSN-Philly Well, a meeting between the second-worst and third-worst teams in the NHL took an interesting turn on Friday. After a day filled with several trade rumors between the two clubs, the Edmonton Oilers signed a recently released Philadelphia Flyer that was at least entertaining, if not productive on the ice, as the Western Conference club signed Ilya Bryzgalov. Devils’ Whitney continues to punish Phantoms

It was a case of deja vu for the Phantoms as Albany Devils left winger, Joe Whitney, scored two goals for the second time in one week resulting in a Devils 4-1 victory over the Phantoms at the Glens Falls Civic Center in front of 4,633 fans. Whitney’s pair combined with goals from Matt Anderson and Darcy Zajac gave the Devils (16-14-9) an easy win as Keith Kinkaid made 26 saves. Matthew Ford scored the lone goal for the Phantoms (17-18-3) as Brian Boucher made 26 saves while having trouble with shots from the slot. The first period was full …
