During the opening weekend of the NHL season, a pair of prospects joined the Philadelphia Flyers’ roster in the team’s first two games of the 2013 campaign. The tandem of Scott Laughton, who enjoyed his first two games in the NHL, and Eric Wellwood, who registered at least one game played for the Flyers in each of the last three seasons, went pointless in the Flyers’ losses on Saturday and Sunday, but they did provide some noticeable performances. The Philadelphia Flyers have made some noise lately with a few transactions. In addition to signing blue liner Kurtis Foster, the Orange and Black completed a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes where they received former Flyer Brian Boucher. In addition to Boosh, Philly was dealt defensive prospect Mark Alt. The pair was exchanged for forward prospect Luke Pither. Since most Flyers’ fans are aware of what Boucher brings to the table, many are curious as to what Alt can do. Shane Harper signed an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers in March of 2010 after an impressive season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League. After he potted 42 goals, an Everett Silvertips record for most goals by a player in a single season, and 38 assists for 80 points in 72 games, Harper joined the Adirondack Phantoms for five games during the 2009-2010 campaign and scored his first goal as a professional in that time. The Future Flyers Weekly Report follows the weekly progress of Flyers prospects. Forwards: Marcel Noebels finally broke out offensively , scoring four goals and assisting on two in three games with Portland. Nick Cousins added four more points (2g, 2a) to his totals last week which moved him up to 7th overall in the OHL scoring race.
