James van Riemsdyk needed to find his way to the net in a crucial non-conference game on Thursday — and he did just that, scoring in the final minute of regulation to complete a two-goal night as the Flyers handed the Chicago Blackhawks a 5-4 loss in the Hawks’ first appearance in Philly since the infamous Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals. In a lineup that boasts Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, and Ryan Callahan, it was Mike Rupp who hurt the Flyers most, as he scored a pair of goals in the Rangers 3-2 at Citizens Bank Park in the 2012 Winter Classic on a blustery Monday afternoon. The Phantoms continued to struggle in the month of December, losing both of their games this week to drop to 3-5-1 since the beginning of the month. Lundqvist Leads Rangers To Victory In Jagr’s Return To MSG
Displaying his second strong performance in as many games against the Flyers this season, Henrik Lundqvist led the Rangers to a 4-2 win on Friday, making 28 saves in the process. Marian Gaborik scored the game-winner very early in the third period as both Stu Bickel and Michael Del Zotto had two-assist games. It’s two days to Christmas. That’s insane. I just got my packages out in the mail yesterday. Yeah, I was way late this year. Wish my family and friends didn’t live so far away.
