Flyperbole: Rumor Ruminations on Andrej Meszaros, Dustin Byfuglien

MEZ DISPENSER CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty took a look at potential trade targets for the Bruins with Dennis Seidenberg out, and the Flyers’ own Andrej Meszaros came up. Per Haggerty: Probability: this actually seems feasible if the price was a prospect and draft pick that weren’t top drawer from the Bruins. This sounds like a perfect price for the Flyers, who have a bit of a logjam at defense and are most likely not going to bring Meszaros back next year. If this deal is possible, then the Flyers should highly consider it. The main reason for hesitation on the Flyers’ …

Flyperbole: Rumor Ruminations on Max Pacioretty, 2015 Winter Classic

MAX POWER The New York Post’s Larry Brooks dropped a bomb on the rumor world on Sunday morning, claiming that the Montreal Canadiens are willing to trade left winger Max Pacioretty. According to Brooks, the 25-year-old winger “apparently isn’t Michel Therrien’s ideal”. This strikes most people as crazy talk, mainly due to the fact that Pacioretty has a great six-year, $27 million contract, with a cap hit of $4.5 million a season. So who are the main suitors for Pacioretty? Per the transcript on TSN:   “Now the Flyers aren’t trying to push out Schenn – they may want to push out his brother Luke – but what they’ve told teams quietly is that if there is the right deal available, if they can find the right fit, then absolutely they would include Brayden Schenn in a trade scenario. And …

Flyperbole: Rumor Time with Wayne Simmonds, Luke Schenn, Braydon Coburn

In the wake of the Max Talbot for Steve Downie trade, the rumor mill for the Flyers was working overtime. The team was losing and everyone expected Paul Holmgren to blow it all up. While it could certainly still happen, a lot of that talk has died down after the Flyers won 3 straight. That said, there’s still a lot going on.   OIL LEAK Darren Dreger tweeted that the Flyers turned down three 2nd round picks from the Edmonton Oilers for defenseman Braydon Coburn at the 2013 NHL Draft. There’s three basic mindsets here:   Good, Braydon Coburn is …

Hockey Hilarity: Robert Ryan Says Silly Season Is Silly

Friday funnies brought to you straight from hockey’s own players, media personnel, and broadcast botches. We’ll be mucking it up every week right here, examining puck ups, puns, tweets, and more! Since the Stanley Cup Finals are upon us, and the Philadelphia Flyers have already started to leak or announce some of the things they’re going to be doing as part of their plan this offseason, a name has come up in rumors (again!?) that has been circulated for, well, forever with the Orange and Black. That name is none other than Anaheim Ducks forward, and Cherry Hill native, Bobby Ryan. Bobby …
