Future Flyers Report: The later picks of 2013

Of the six draft picks the Philadelphia Flyers had in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, many fans know about Samuel Morin, Robert Hagg, and Tyrell Goulbourne. The hopes are that Morin and Hagg will be on the Flyers’ blue line for awhile starting in a few years, while Goulbourne is expected to be the second coming of Zac Rinaldo, whether that’s good news or bad news for the club. However, what about the final three picks in this year’s draft? With their fifth-round pick, the Orange and Black selected Terrance Amorosa, a 19-year-old left-handed defenseman who is 6’2″ and weighs …

Flyers dominate the Senators, Mason posts 24 saves in 5-0 win

There weren’t too many questions about the Philadelphia Flyers’ goal scoring tonight, as they dominated the Ottawa Senators 5-0 for a big road win. Although most of the bigger names on Phoenix are 100-percent owned in ESPN leagues, there are still some players available who wouldn’t be a bad addition. One of those players is Antoine Vermette, who is still available in 7.8 percent of the ESPN leagues. He averages the third-most time on the ice for a Coyotes’ forward, as he is on the team’s first power-play unit as well as the team’s third line. …

Game 16 Preview: Edmonton Oilers @ Philadelphia Flyers

Edmonton Oilers (4-11-2) @ Philadelphia Flyers (4-10-1), 1:00pm, NHL Network/CSN-Philly Well, a meeting between the second-worst and third-worst teams in the NHL took an interesting turn on Friday. After a day filled with several trade rumors between the two clubs, the Edmonton Oilers signed a recently released Philadelphia Flyer that was at least entertaining, if not productive on the ice, as the Western Conference club signed Ilya Bryzgalov. It seemed as though it was only a matter of time before a club reached out to the former Philly goaltending character. Ironically, the team that did so signed Bryzgalov the day …
