Fake Hockey Help: The Edmonton Oilers’ Trades

The Edmonton Oilers took part in a pair of trades this week, as they changed their look in the crease and added more grit to their lineup. What this means to your fantasy team is that there are a few more goalies who might be impactful to your team and a bottom-six forward who might see more ice time due to his change of scenery. The Oilers’ first trade was shipping Devan Dubnyk to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Matt Hendricks. In exchange for one of their goaltenders, Edmonton received a fourth liner from the Predators, who has been …

Duck, Duck, Lose: Flyers’ Win Streak Ends at Two After Loss to Anaheim

Despite a first period that showed some promise, the Flyers were unable to hold off the Anaheim Ducks and saw their first loss in three games. Matt Read and Vinny Lecavalier were responsible for the two Philadelphia goals, while Kyle Palmieri scored two and Andrew Cogliano also scored for Anaheim. More importantly perhaps, the team is finally healthy as Scott Hartnell and Vincent Lecavalier have both returned from injury. Lecavalier now has four goals and six points on the season, three of which came yesterday as he skated for the second game in a row with captain Claude Giroux and rookie Michael Raffl. Jakub Voracek is starting to look a little bit more …

Future Flyers Report: Kessel’s Offensive Weekend

Blake Kessel is regarded as one of the better defenseman on the Trenton Titans. At 6’2″, 203 pounds, Kessel does a great job in his own end of the rink and can pitch in offensively as well. In his final two years at the University of New Hampshire and his time with the Adirondack Phantoms last season, Kessel posted a total of 16 goals and 67 assists in 133 games. This weekend, Kessel had a three-assist game on Saturday and a two-point game yesterday. Thanks to Stephen Schultz’s four-goal game on Saturday, Kessel showed his ability to start a scoring …
