Flight Plan: Wheels Up

In this writer’s opinion, the Philadelphia Flyers blew it last week. The team had three games which they should have won, one of which they could have grabbed a point in, and garnered just four points to their names and worse, they scored just seven goals in the process. To come out the way they did against the lowly Florida Panthers, is just unacceptable. To need overtime and the shootout to win a game against the Nashville Predators is similarly unacceptable. This team is far too reliant on Ray Emery and Steve Mason to keep games within reach. They can’t …

Flight Plan: Getting Back Into the Swing of Things

­­ Through two games, the Philadelphia Flyers are looking like a good team, but have lacked finish as they’ve been outscored 7-2 thus far in the 2013-2014 season. Luckily, there are 80 more games left as opposed to last year where there would only be 46 games  remaining at this point, and there are some bright spots. The scoring lead for the team is currently a three-way tie between Vincent Lecavalier, Mark Streit, and Brayden Schenn.
