The Philadelphia Flyers dropped their season opener tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, as the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs came in and stole a 3-1 victory. Jonathan Bernier bailed out the Maple Leafs several times during Toronto’s win, as he kept his team in it for the first two periods before Dave Bolland potted the game-winning goal early in the third period and put home the insurance tally with 22.5 seconds left for a two-goal game. The Philadelphia Flyers extended their season-high winning streak to four games tonight with a 5-3 decision over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. Sean Couturier and Erik Gustafsson both recorded two-assist nights, while Jay Rosehill was credited with the eventual game-winner against his former squad. Despite a quick start and numerous chances offered by Toronto goalie Ben Scrivens, the Philadelphia Flyers were unable to pull out a win in Monday night’s matchup with the Maple Leafs, falling by a 4-2 count.
