The Philadelphia Flyers took a four game win streak, their first of the season, into Winnipeg yesterday. They scored the first goal and, after a few shaky minutes at the beginning of the first period, completely took over registering 13 shots in the primary stanza, limiting the Jets to just four through 20 minutes of play. Winnipeg roared out of the gates in the second and notched four goals on just 12 shots, while Philadelphia could only muster five all period. Win streak ends in Winnipeg, Flyers lose 4-1 to Jets

The Philadelphia Flyers saw their four-game win streak snapped today in Winnipeg with a 4-1 loss to the Jets. Evander Kane and Bryan Little each had a goal and an assist, while Blake Wheeler registered two assists in a four-goal second period for the Jets. Ruslan Fedotenko was the lone Flyer to beat Ondrej Pavelec, as the goaltender made 30 saves for the win. Ilya Bryzgalov made 12 saves on 16 shots against before being pulled after the conclusion of the second period. Couturier and pair of new Flyers help Philly to road win over Leafs

The Philadelphia Flyers extended their season-high winning streak to four games tonight with a 5-3 decision over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. Sean Couturier and Erik Gustafsson both recorded two-assist nights, while Jay Rosehill was credited with the eventual game-winner against his former squad. Ilya Bryzgalov may have allowed three goals on 28 shots, but he and the Flyers’ defense did come up big in the third period when the Leafs surged late in the contest. Flyers cloak themselves in mystery, get Mason from Blue Jackets for Leighton

The endless goaltending soap opera just got a spin-off. In their first foray into dealing ahead of the 3 PM trade deadline, the Flyers acquired Steve Mason from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Multiple reports initially stated it is for multiple draft picks, but with the club at the 50-contract limit thanks to picking up Adam Hall off waivers, another body had go to accommodate current CBA rules. That body turned out to be little-used backup Michael Leighton, and the draft pick is a third-rounder in 2015 as the club confirmed this afternoon. Leighton participated in one game, a 5-1 loss …
