Rumors and Rumblings! Incoming Alex Pietrangelo offer sheet?

Did it come as a surprise to anyone that the first rumor regarding the Philadelphia Flyers involves upgrading a defense that has struggled the majority of the season?  The Flyers defense was plagued with injuries and inconsistency throughout the year, resulting in just their second missed playoff appearance in 18 seasons. According to Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com, another offer sheet could be in the Flyers’ offseason plans.  This year’s target could be Alex Pietrangelo of the St. Louis Blues.  The 23-year-old defenseman is on the final year of his entry level contract and is due for a major raise. Then and Now: Randy Jones

  Randy Jones joined the Philadelphia Flyers’ organization for the 2003-2004 campaign. After he totaled 53 points in 68 games with Clarkson University over the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons, Jones participated in a combined 60 games with the Flyers and the Philadelphia Phantoms in the season before the lost year of 2004-2005. Jones played in just five games with the Flyers during the 2003-2004 season, as he failed to record a point and was plus-1 in his stretch with the Orange and Black. Flyers hold 11th spot in the 2013 Entry Draft

  The National Hockey League held its annual draft lottery tonight in Toronto. The lottery system allows the teams with the worst records a real chance at improving.  This year will mark the first time that all 14 of the non-playoff teams will have a shot at winning the first pick.  Basically it breaks down like this:  the worse the record of the team, the more likely the chance that they win the first-overall pick.
