In the middle of the 2002-2003 regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers shipped defenseman Bruno St. Jacques and winger Pavel Brendl to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a pair of players. Scottie Do: Flyers give Hartnell multi-year extension

Another domino falls in the Flyers’ direction. Following on the heels of Wayne Simmonds’ six-year contract extension, Scott Hartnell has been signed to a six-year contract extension on Monday. Tim Panaccio reports the contract is for $28.5 million over the six years, which results in a cap hit of only $4.75 million; a very modest raise over his current $4.2 million cap hit. “We are pleased to announce that we have agreed with Scott on a multi-year extension,” said Flyers GM Paul Holmgren. “Scott has been a very good player for us over the last five seasons and we look …
