It was 2007 when the Flyers brought in both Kimmo Timonen and Scott Hartnell in a pre-draft trade with Nashville, instantly revitalizing the roster from head to toe. With just five games left, the Flyers’ 2013 season has been marred by inconsistency on every inch of the ice. On the surface, it felt particularly frustrating from an offensive standpoint. It’s becoming an ugly trend for the Flyers. Week after week, they fail to establish momentum, instead opting to tread water at the .500-mark in the win-loss column. President’s Day weekend found me in your city: Philadelphia. My school takes a four day weekend then and I so desperately wanted to see my best friend and come back to where I didn’t have to defend my Philadelphia Flyers love, so I went. I will be in Philadelphia! Yes! I have a long weekend break from teaching and I’m heading east and north to see my best friend and be in the city of my team. I unfortunately will not be seeing a game due to the Flyers being away and general lack of money, but I don’t care. I plan to do the tourist sightseeing that I haven’t done the times I’ve been before and just enjoy being there.
