Frequent Flyer Miles: Boucher cut, Prospal possibly going to Europe, AHL training camps

In what’s been the busiest week in terms of movement since the beginning of the Frequent Flyer Miles column, a laundry list of former Philadelphia Flyers and draft picks, Adirondack Phantoms, and Trenton Titans changed clubs, signed extensions, or were involved in rumors. A handful of former Flyers were involved in transactions, as Brian Boucher, Vinny Prospal, David Laliberte, and Nikolay Zherdev found themselves on the move. It’s been a nice, safe offseason in Philadelphia Flyer land; one that deserves some good marks for General Manager Paul Holmgren. He jettisoned the bloated contracts of Danny Briere and Ilya Brzgalov via their compliance buyouts. He traded for and then signed mobile defenseman Mark Streit (in probably the only questionable move of the offseason; at least from a contract perspective).
