Frequent Flyer Miles: Boucher cut, Prospal possibly going to Europe, AHL training camps

In what’s been the busiest week in terms of movement since the beginning of the Frequent Flyer Miles column, a laundry list of former Philadelphia Flyers and draft picks, Adirondack Phantoms, and Trenton Titans changed clubs, signed extensions, or were involved in rumors. A handful of former Flyers were involved in transactions, as Brian Boucher, Vinny Prospal, David Laliberte, and Nikolay Zherdev found themselves on the move. According to the website Blick.ch, Boucher has been cut by EV Zug in the NLA. The former Flyer didn’t exactly impress EV Zug to keep his job, as he allowed 16 goals in …

Frequent Flyer Miles: Nodl to play in Switzerland, Potulny’s injury results in departure from KHL

We are now at the point of the offseason where the biggest news related to former Philadelphia Flyers has reached Andreas Nodl signing in Switzerland and Ryan Potulny being released from a KHL squad. The list of players who were once linked to the Orange and Black and endured transactions this week is still rather long, but Nodl and Potulny are the only two who actually played a game for the Flyers. Trenton Update: 1/4-1/10

The Trenton Titans’ two-game skid turned into a five-game losing streak this week, as the squad dropped all three games on their schedule with a record of 0-2-1. Although the Titans managed to eke out an overtime victory last Thursday against their division rival, Trenton lost back-to-back contests to Reading on Friday and Saturday to suffer consecutive losses for the first time since December 8-9. Friday’s setback was nearly a spectacular comeback, as the Titans lost 5-4 at the Sovereign Center. Stephen Schultz registered his 10th goal of the season and assisted on two others for his second three-point performance …

Royals rally, score three in third for 3-2 win in Trenton

After they nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback of their own on Friday night, the Trenton Titans watched the Reading Royals strike for three goals in the third period for a 3-2 win at the Sun National Bank Center last night. The loss completed the teams’ series of three straight meetings in three consecutive days, as the Titans snuck away with an overtime win on Thursday before losing back-to-back one-goal affairs the last two games. Yannick Tifu registered the game-winner for Reading, while Denny Urban and Ian O’Connor provided tallies as well in the win. Stephen Schultz had a two-goal …
