2013 NHL Entry Draft: Updated (5/31) Mock Draft Two

There have been some changes from the time my last mock draft posted until now. The players who rose the most were Nikita Zadorov (London Knights; OHL) and Robert Hagg (Modo; Swedish Elite League). Hunter Shinkaruk (Medicine Hat Tigers; WHL) and Steven Santini (US U-18; USHL) were the biggest fallers in the first round. There are also two new faces in this mock draft: Robert Hagg (above) and Madison Bowey (Kelowna Rockets; WHL). The breakdown and full mock draft is below. You can find my first mock here, as well as Tom’s first mock. Additionally, here is Tom’s revised mock. …

Tom Zulewski and I wanted to compile our very own top 30 list of prospects for the upcoming draft. This is a list of who I believe are the top 30 players available. Draft Eligibles 2013: Prince Albert’s Josh Morrissey could be a fit for Flyers

The Prince Albert Raiders don’t get the same type of fanfare as their Western Hockey League counterparts in Portland, Edmonton, and Kelowna largely because they are so far north in the prairies of Saskatchewan. The Raider’s though are quietly having a solid year and currently sit fifth place in the WHL’s Eastern Conference. Last year, Prince Albert finished dead last in all of the WHL. One reason for the team’s turnaround this year is the emergence of defenseman Josh Morrissey. The 6-foot, 175-pound blueliner started of the season with 14 points in 16 games and currently has 15 goals, 28 …

Sunday funday: Who wants to play Armchair GM?

I do, of course. I mean, who doesn’t? Any dedicated fan is going to have input on how to improve his/her favorite team. It goes without saying, though, that any Armchair GM is merely expressing an opinion. Nothing more, nothing less. And what better way to end a long week than by doing just that? When it comes to the makeup of the roster that comprises the current Philadelphia Flyers team, two things need to be taken into consideration: Not unlike the basement-dwelling 2007 Flyers, this team has a solid core of promising young stars that are starting to realize …

Draft Eligibles: Ryan Pulock (WHL)

Although it may be cold outside and the NHL has just begun it’s never too early to take a look at upcoming draft eligible players for the 2013 draft, which will be held up the turnpike in Newark. This week I’m taking a look at defenseman Ryan Pulock of the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings. In 43 games played thus far for Brandon, Pulock has 10 goals, 27 assists good for 37 points. He is also a plus 2 on the season. Pulock did miss two weeks in early January this year with bone chips in his wrist. That injury should …
