Five Questions: Rebuilding the Phantoms and Titans

Flyers Faithful revisited a former recurring feature, Five Questions, to address some current hot and important topics, including the draft, prospects, and the future of the Flyers. For this edition of Five Questions, we asked John Saquella, Jim Butler, James Centifonti, Joshua Janet, and our very own Jared Abbott to participate. Below, you will find their answers to today’s question. The organization has failed to produce winning clubs at the AHL and ECHL levels in recent years. With your GM cap still on, how do you go about fixing that? Is it even a big deal? John Saquella: Winning at …

Grossmann out 2-3 weeks with concussion

The Season of Wither for the Flyers defense corps continues, with the revelation that Nicklas Grossmann will miss an additional 2-to-3 weeks with a concussion. The news is not new, nor has it been released by the club officially, but multiple reports have stated the case along with the updated timetable on Wednesday. Grossmann has been out since March 18 — a 4-2 road loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning — with what has been called an upper-body injury. Andrew Johnston and Brandon Manning each contributed a goal for the Phantoms (20-24-3) in a wild first period which saw Adirondack continuing their scoring momentum from last Sundays game against Syracuse. “It’s not easy sometimes to keep that kind of an attitude when you have that many days off,” said Phantoms head coach Terry Murray. “But I really like how overall …

Munroe the Magnificent stars as Phantoms rout Crunch

Scott Munroe was the silent hero on Sunday afternoon, as he stopped 42-of-43 shots while the rest of the Phantoms uncharacteristically came together as a team and took it to the Syracuse Crunch by a 6-1 score in front of 3,076 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack (19-24-3) had something to prove after a week of drama on and off the ice including a loss at Syracuse on Friday night. Goals by Erik Gustafsson, Matt Mangene, Jeff Dimmen and David Laliberte  chased starter Riku Helenius out of the net after two periods, while Cullen Eddy and Laliberte tallied in …
