The biggest news of the week around the NHL was the injury to Steven Stamkos. With a broken tibia, Stamkos is expected to be out until at least the Olympics, which doesn’t even seem all that likely for the Tampa Bay forward. A perennial goal-scoring machine, many people most likely took Stamkos in the top four overall in their fantasy hockey draft if he didn’t go first overall. Flyers grab win at their second home, beat Pens 2-1 in Pittsburgh

Flyers Defeat Penguins 4-2; Giroux Defeats Terrorists

What started out as a routine night for the undefeated Philadelphia Flyers climaxed with the death of two terrorists on the ice and ended with another easy win for the Flyers. Flyers captain Claude Giroux started the scoring early in the game, when he dangled and dazzled his way around the entire starting line-up of the Pittsburgh Penguins off the opening faceoff. Giroux dizzy-danced around all five Penguins players and then razzled-razzled Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury for a 1-0 lead five seconds into the game. With all four Flyers lines styling and profiling, ripping and rocking due to each line …
