It only took Garrett Roe 59 minutes and 59.7 seconds to tie the game, and it only took 15 rounds of a shootout for Mark Alt to score the game-winning goal, leading the Phantoms to victory over the Binghamton Senators by a score of 2-1 Sunday afternoon at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Ask anyone who is affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers, and they will tell you that the organization is good to its players, both current and former. For proof, look no further than the team’s front office. Bobby Clarke, the longtime face of the organization while a player, is the team’s Senior Vice President. Michael Leighton made his Adirondack season debut Sunday night at the Glens Falls Civic Center with a 25-save performance, only to see the rest of his Phantoms teammates fall short in a loss to the Albany Devils by a score of 3-2. Jeff Frazee put on a stellar performance for the Devils (24-19-11) with 36 saves, and Phil DeSimone scored twice including the deciding tally before the nine-minute mark of the third. Scott Munroe was the silent hero on Sunday afternoon, as he stopped 42-of-43 shots while the rest of the Phantoms uncharacteristically came together as a team and took it to the Syracuse Crunch by a 6-1 score in front of 3,076 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack’s Rob Bordson made up for his bad pass at the blue line – which gave Norfolk a 3-on-0 and an easy goal – by digging his skates in and scoring two of his own, helping to lead the Phantoms past the Norfolk Admirals 5-2 in front of a crowd of 3,157 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Adirondack Phantoms started their stretch of three games in three days on Friday night on home ice, but it was no comfort in a 4-3 loss to the Albany Devils in front of 4,606 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
