Penn State travels to Pittsburgh this weekend for the Three Rivers Classic

For the second straight season, the Penn State Nittany Lions will be playing in the Three Rivers Classic at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Last season, Penn State lost the opening game of the classic 6-0 to Robert Morris and then beat Ohio State 5-4. Penn State will once again play Robert Morris this Friday at 7:30 and then play the winner or loser of the Boston College/Bowling Green match up on Saturday. Penn State’s struggles continue against Wisconsin

Game one versus the Badgers last Friday night was simple not a pretty game to watch. The Nittany Lions were thoroughly outplayed in all facets of the game. The Badgers out shot Penn State by a 43-28 margin and the Lions went 0-for-3 on the powerplay, while Wisconsin finished 0-for-4 on the power play. Badger netminder Joel Rumpel turned aside 27 shots for the 7-1 victory.
